Tony Griffith is a native Floridian born in Jacksonville, and raised in Melbourne Beach, Florida. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance from Florida State University in 1983 and was selected to the Omicron Delta Kappa National Honorary. He also was the President of Theta Chi Fraternity and served as the President of the FSU Chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society. In addition, he was selected for FSU ’s Gold Key Honorary Society and Order of the Omega. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the Florida State University College of Law in 1986, with Honors. He was also on the Board of the FSU Law Review and was selected to serve as an Article and Notes Editor.
Mr. Griffith was the recipient of the Clearwater Bar Association Ralph Richards Award for professional excellence and previously served on the CBA Board of Directors. The Barney Masterson Inn of Court for Pinellas and Pasco Counties also gave him the 2018 award for professionalism, ethics, civility and legal excellence known as “The Barney”. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by both the Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has also been inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Top Trial Lawyers in America, a national organization recognizing trial lawyers who have received jury awards in excess of one million dollars. He has been named as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He has also been named as one of Florida's "Super Lawyers" by Super Lawyer Magazine and has been selected by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida's "Legal Elite". Mr. Griffith has achieved an AV rating, the highest possible, by his peers through Martindale-Hubbell, for preeminence in legal abilities and ethical standards. He is a member of the Florida Justice Association and Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers among other associations.
He was previously in Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Pinellas County, a former President of Pinellas Habitat for Humanity and is currently on the board of Springs of Hope Kenya, a Christian orphanage. He has enjoyed coaching and youth ministry as well as the joy of raising 4 daughters with his wife of over 25 years.
